Here's a selection of what our visitors have said about staying at Walkers End - and thank you to everyone who left a comment in our Visitor Book

Ethereal sunset towards Hay Bluff from the upper bedroom at Walkers End

What a find, thanks to the 'internet'. Fabulous accommodation with everything you need and more. What stunning views to encourage you to get out and about and a great pub, 'The Chase Inn' for 'tea'. Bliss. Already looking forward to the next visit in the summertime. Thank you

Mick and Maureen, Staffordshire, December 2011

We have had a lovely week in this cosy cottage in this beautiful area. Good shops just down the road with all we needed - wonderful butcher, grocer and greengrocer and post office - and the bonus of the open garde with the National Collection of Michaelmas Dasies. The cake was delicious, thank you! Ruth and Keith Treves Brown, Berkshire

4th visit in a row. We can't get enough!

Sande, Francisca and Linde, The Netherlands, October 2011

Returning to our beloved Malvern on the Royal Wedding Day and being greeted so warmly by Hattie and her own version of Royal Wedding Cake was wonderful (Kate's and Price William's could not have tasted better!) Your cottage is a gem, beautifully positioned in one of the most stunning parts of England. Thank you for allowing us to share it, albeit for a very short time. We would love to come again but for much longer!

Sue and Trevor, Bexhill on Sea, and Mike and Mandy, Thatcham, Berkshire, May 2011

Once again our stay at Walkers End has been sublime - landscape, cottage and such a warm welcome from you all. Thank you Hattie, Andrew and Sophia for sharing this beautiful place with us. We will be returning within a couple of years (PS Simnel cake and fresh flowers were so lovely Hattie) Best wishes.

Robyn and Dennis Elliott, Sydney Australia, April 2011 [2nd visit]

Armed with the indispensible Roy Woodcocks and his 'Walks around the Malverns' guide we have climbed Midsummer Hill, walked all around North Hill and scrambled the hills above Ledbury. With Weston's superb cider to slate the thirst, Davod Waller's wonderful butchers - soon to open in Colwall - and the comfort of Walkers End to return to is it any wonder we keep coming back? Another five star week, a new commendation for Walkers End and Hattie's amazing lemon drizzle cake. See you again soon. (PS golf lovers - do not miss England's highest course at Kington GC with fantastic views and a very warm welcome). Bridget and Steve Killick, East Sussex, April 2011 [3rd visit]

First time at Walkers End, and it won't be our last, a lovely cottage, great views. everything had been thought of from the welcome tray with the lovely cake (still warm) to the weather forcast printout on the table. We needed for nothing, very helpful host, very comfortable, very warm during a cold period. Thank you for a great stay - will recommend you!

John and denise, Wigan, April 2011

We have enjoyed a lovely and much needed weekend break at your cottage. 'Walkers End' is truly beautiful - the internet photos don't do it justice! Everything is just perfect and we especially appreciated the special little touches - the cake, the apple juice, the real wooden clothes hangers in the wardrobe . . . Thank you so much. Even the weather was fine and sunny. We hope to visit again. Julie and Andrew Hall, Nottingham, March 2011

The property gives no sense of the number of residents, which is testament alone to how well it's looked after. But it's a lovely spot, and rightly popular. For us, this was the break we wanted - good walking, excellent food, a great visit to 'Oscars' at The Coach House Theatre (how good is that company?), and the chance for peace and unhurried book reading. The small touches all appreciated - including that cake! - and we'll definitely recommend Walkers End (to walkers and non-)

Jon and Christine, West Yorkshire, March 2011

Many thanks for a brilliant weekend  in the cottage. The walking on Saturday was so nice - amazing sunshine! We will definitely recommend you to all our friends. Kirk and Wendy, South Wales, February 2011

We've had a great weekend and enjoyed the walking - the wind blew more than just the cobwebs away! the cottage and your welcome were wonderful and we had a great meal at The Chase Inn. Thanks! Nic and Charis, Derby, February 2011

Excellent! Really enjoyed our stay at the cottage. Appreciated the lemon drizzle cake and welcome. Many thanks to Hattie and Andrew. Chris and Paula, Sam and Christine, Cheshire, January 2011

Beautifully appointed and furnished, with outstanding care and attention to detail. Ideally located and so welcoming. We'll definitely be back both for the views from the house and the Malverns! Thank you.

Brian and Penny, Greenwich, January 2011

Thank you so much for a lovely stay in your cottage. All the extra little touches make it feel like home. thank you Hattie for the delicious cake and we hope to be coming back soon! The Mallett Family, Sydney, Australia, December 2010

I think it's all been said before, but Fantastic Place to stay. Thank you Hattie and Andrew and thank you for the lovely cake.

Jayne and Martin Burge, Chester, November 2010

Superb cottage with superb surroundings. We really enjoyed the fruit cake that you prepared for us. we will definitely be coming back again, thank you. The Edwards Family, Forest of Dean, November 2010

Lovely peaceful Autumn days with golden sunlight and trees just turning into burnished tints. Thank you again for such a comfortable stay with all the special thoughtful touches you are so good at providing. We appreciate everything and hope to return for a Spring or Summer visit. Morna Finley and Maurice Collymore, London, October 2010

The big picture is that there is just so much to do with Walkers End as a base. Glorious walks, the wonderful Mappa mundi in Hereford Cathedral and lovely pubs for food and drink. The small picture is that, whatever form your relaxation takes, Walkers End is the very best place to do it from. See you very soon we hope.

Steve and Bridget Killick, East Sussex, October 2010 [2nd visit]

Thank you for a super stay in your lovely cottage. We really enjoyed the attention to detail and the cake! And with some surprisingly bright and warm days it was a pleasure to spend a few moments in the garden - you really are talented gardeners. Thans too for the buggy use - had a glorious walk to The kettle Sings.

The Donaldson Family, Brighton, September 2010

A very warm and generous welcome to Walkers End started our stay in this lovely cottage. There is no place like home, but this came close. Every attention to our needs was shown, we hope to return soon.

Eileen and Ron, Salisbury, September 2010

Absolutely perfect stay. Wonderfully clean and comfortable. beautiful area, we all had a super time. Thank you.

The Sheltons, Leicestershire, August 2010

What a lovely place to stay! There is so much to do and see all on your doorstep. Great pubs and views. Many thanks.

Rigden Family, Kent, August 2010

Lovely cottage with stunning views and beautiful garden, obviously lovingly tended. Thank you for the warm welcome and perfect sponge cake! It was good to be back in Malvern re-visiting old haunts, friends and relatives. We would certainly like to return to the cottage one day. Chris, Sophia, Hannah, Olivia and William, Hertfordshire and Suffolk, July 2010

The best holiday cottage we have ever stayed in. Perfect home from home, perfect holiday. Thank you.

Paul and June Ley, Kent, June 2010

As everyone says the Malvern Hills are lovely and Walkers End is just brilliant. Detail, cleanliness, thoughtful welcome and a joy to deal with Hattie beforehand too. We have been so well provided for - it is easy to see why people return. This is definitely the first choice for the Malvern area and wider. Excellent lemon drizzle cake and the weather has been fabulous. The view from the Worcestershire Beacon is amazing. We came here mainly for the Archers day at the Three Counties Show but we leave in love with the area. Andrew's photographs set the place off nicely. Thank you Hattie for being such a thoughtful and wonderful host.

Simon and Gail Kinrade, West Sussex, June 2010

Lovely location, lovely garden, but it's the incredible attention to detail that makes this cottage so very special. I don't think we have experienced such attention to detail - anywhere, ever! Barry and Brenda Woods, Sydney, Australia, June 2010

Thoroughly enjoyed our second visit to your beautifully appointed cottage. We love it and hope to see you again. Fabulous walking! Tim and Sheila, Buckinghamshire, May 2010

Our third visit in 3 years was yet again absolutely wonderful. Walkers End is an excellent cottage for great walks to Great Malvern and exploring the rest of the hills. The standard set by Walkers End is an example for other cottages and we loved the cake. Hope to be back soon. Sande, Franciska and Linde, Netherlands, May 2010 [3rd visit]

It is easy to fall in love with this most beautiful part of England and Walkers End is the perfect spot to ensure the relationship flourishes. Well-equipped, even an asparagus kettle (!) and extremely comfortable, we armed ourselves with the splendid 'Walks around Malvern' guide by Roy Woodcock and even found some we could do on the flat. Why there is no Five Star Platinum Award we cannot understand. Perhaps Visit England does not do one yet, well it should, if only for the delicious lemon drizzle cake awaiting our arrival.

Bridget and Steve Killick, nr Lewes, East Sussex, April 2010

What a find! An ideal location for exploring the Malvern Hills without taking the car. A delightful cottage with everything you need and a warm welcome. Tea and delicious Simnel cake to start the week's break was wonderful. We would certainly recommend it to others. Thank you! Geoff and Sally, London, April 2010

Excellent choice for our Easter break in Herefordshire. we managed to walk  30-mile section of the Herefordshire trail from Bishop's Frome - Ross over 3 days. Another 5 more weekends will enable us to complete the 150 mile circle. Everything in the cottage was first class with plenty of room for a family of 4 including 2 teenagers, and everything that we needed available ready for use, laid out in acvance, topped off with a tremendous fruit cake!

Peter, Sarah, Katie and Tom Millard, Guildford, Surrey, April 2010

Thank you to Hattie, Andrew and Sophia for the very warm welcome. I agree with everything that has been written by others. I could spend hours looking out at the views! (and I live in the Lake District in a house with a splendid view).

Christine and Stephen, Kendal, Cumbria, March 2010

Thank you for a very peaceful and comfortable weekend. The cake was excellent, and lovely to some back to with a cup of tea after an afternoon on the hills. Shelagh and Rob, Gloucestershire, February 2010

We loved the warmth and comfort and peace of the cottage and much appreciated the welcome and all the additional Christmas touches. The snow's two appearances added a sense of adventure. We'd like to return when it's warm and dry and green!

Maurice and Morna, Highbury, London, Christmas 2010

A superb cottage full of everything you need - a real gem! Hattie and Andrew are fantastic hosts. I felt warm, cosy and very happy here for my short break. All the little extras made all the difference, and the heated towel warmer is pure luxury! Hope to come again - until then happy sailing! Lorraine Eglinton, Falmouth, Capeland, MA, USA, December 2009

Had some lovely walks and visits to the local pubs, beautiful views and great time. Cottage was lovely and we felt really at home and comfortable. The extra touches were a real treat. Fab place! Will be recommending and returning.

Sue, Helen and Rachel, Oxfordshire and Staffordshire, November 2009

We have simply loved your stylish and comfortable cottage and its beautiful surroundings. A great base for so many places. we will be recommending it. Andrew and Ann Stevens, Devizes, October 2009

You have an exquisite cottage. I wish I could have stayed longer. It was meticulous and the features are stunning. All this and a breath-taking view! Thank you for the yummy cake! Geraldine Allen, Wiltshire, September 2009

The Gold Award from 'Visit England' and all the complimentary remarks of previous guests are well deserved. We found this gem of a cottage by chance on the Internet but will certainly recommend it to family and friends and would be delighted to return for a longer holiday. Extremely well-appointed and comfortable for a self-catering property - there is nothing we could think of that wasn't supplied! A warm friendly welcome too - and excellent lemon cake - on arrival.

Bill and Jean Stalker, County Durham, August 2009

Best place in 22 years in Britain. Amazing garden, exceptionally clean, well-stocked and maintained. Owners very good, highly recommend this to all, from anywhere. Plan to return next year after all the years we are in this area.

Arwyn and Judy, Flagstaff USA, July 2009

Thank you for a lovely holiday (place to be) at your cottage and for your company at the BBQ.  You have certainly put a lot of thought into the content and infrastructure of the facilities and we found everything that we required, even better than home! Each person we have talked to back home says the cottage sounds like something out of a 'Famous Five' book.

Pat and Russell Felton, June 2009

An immaculate cottage in a wonderful area. Our time here has been superb in all respects. Thank you Hattie and Andrew for this gift and congratulations on your Gold Award. You truly deserve it!

Robyn and Dennis Elliot, Sydney Australia, May 2009

Our second stay in Walkers End felt like coming home. We had a wonderful week. We hope to return in 2010! [and have already booked, Editor]

Sander, Franciska and Linde, Holland, April/May 2009

The cottage was perfect and we had some brilliant sunny weather along the way. The car has been resting all week and it is our legs and lungs that have been working hard on the Malvern Hills! A wonderful and relaxing break in a peaceful location. Thank you. Stuart, Carole and Charlotte Rye, Tonbridge, Kent, April 2009

We've had a wonderful stay in your beautiful cottage. The children loved their attic space, and we've enjoyed the views, the sun, the bedding, the cake, the dishwasher . . . ! Thank you so much!

Claire, Pete, Emily and Joshua, Leicester, April 2009

We've had a lovely 3 day break to relax and celebrate my 40th - it's been wonderfully relaxing, in a beautiful setting, with much attention to our every need. A superb cottage. Hattie and Andrew made us very welcome, spectacular views and many thanks for a lovely holiday. Angela and Marcus Lock, Weston-super-Mare, April 2009

A grand introduction to the splendour of the Malvern Hills - great views across Herefordshire in many changes of light, very well designed accommodation and charming garden. We loved the uncluttered look and whisky marmalade. Frances and Peggy, London and Wallingford, March 2009

One of the best places we have stayed - a wonderful comfortable home with every comfort supplied. We have really enjoyed our break, especially being able to walk right out onto the hills. Thank you so much for making the cottage so welcoming. Ernie and Frances Reid, London, March 2009

Every need has been thought of. Even a hot water bottle! Just like home, there was nothing we lacked, no little item not provided to make this a perfect holiday home. We have had a lovely week. Thank you. Wanda and Andrew, Ickford, Bucks, March 2009

Andrew and Hattie you really do have a fabulous place. We enjoyed getting away from the hussle and bustle which is home and your place was just what we needed. Bed was too cosy, didn't want to get up. Really, really don't want to go home. Will definately be back in the Summer, thanks. Scott and Sarah Millington, Dudley, January 2009

Delightful attention to detail round every corner, even a Christmas tree without having to get in the attic! Not forgetting the cake and Sophia's gingerbread. Just the place for a very diferent Christmas, lots of fresh (if very cold) air and oodles of sleep. Jeff and Maggie, Abbots Langley, Herts, Christmas 2008

The cottage is lovely, in a beautiful location. We appreciated the cake and flowers, and the attention to detail in every area. We had a very relaxing break. Lynn and Tim Evans, Calne, December 2008

Lovely cottage and you thought of everything! Hope to be back next year. Lisa Robertson and Lynne Marshall, Cyprus and Devon, November 2008

A lovely couple of days in a delightful cottage. 5 Star in every respect, hope to be back soon. Debbie and Frank, Salisbury, October 2008

What a wonderful find - cottage was way above expectations, the views were magnificent. We had a wonderful week and look forward to a return visit. Jane, Kate and Gaynor, Suffolk/Yorkshire, October 2008

The cottage 'spoke to us' from the brochure and kept its word! Very comfortable and everything we could possibly need. Excellent walking, good theatre and Whitley Court and Church shouldn't be missed. Great cake! Janet and Duncan Mortley, Weston-super-Mare, September 2008

Wow, what a wonderful place – for location, comfort and relaxation. We came here for a child free weekend away for my 40th birthday treat (but we did miss the children!). We had many walks on the Malvern Hills, an excellent Sunday roast (possibly one of the best ever) in the Chase Inn, had a lovely afternoon in Ledbury and, because the house was so relaxing, two wonderful lie-ins. We shall definitely be coming again and with the children, they would love it. Hattie’s cake was wonderful!

Tysha and Raff Rochira, Peterborough Cambs, August 2008

Worth coming just for the cake! Absolutely delicious! We have felt very at home here. A lovely cottage in a beautiful area. We have barely scratched the surface of things to do – we shall definitely be back. The best appointed and kept house we’ve ever rented, very thoughtfully done, and that cake! Lovely. Maxine, Steve, Ruby and Gaby, Stevenage, Herts, August 2008

As others have said, what a fantastic cottage! Probably the best equipped and most comfortable we've had anywhere. Really loved the area too. Had some great walks: over the Beacon right to the end [North End Hill], round from West Malvern into Great Malvern (for a coffee!) and back home via St Anne's Well; another (based on Walk 16 in 'Pub Walks' book) down the east side of the ridge to drop down to St Wulstan's (Elgar grave), on to British Camp via Little Malvern and home (after a drink at Malvern Hills Hotel!) via Shire Ditch, Perseverance Hill etc. Loved it and hope to return soon. (P.S. Thanks for the delicious cake too - perfect after our exploratory trip up the Beacon!). Edmondson-Jones family, Southwell, Notts, August 2008

Stunning, all and more than we ever expected. Beautiful, peaceful, a rare delight. Thank you for the welcome, goodies, and care you have both put into making Walkers End cottage a lovely place to stay.

Mr and Mrs Gordon Brown, London, July 2008

We've had a wonderful holiday, beautiful weather and great walks. The flowers and cake were much appriciated. Also impressed with all the work you have put in to making the cottage so light and welcoming and the garden is lovely.

Ted and Becky Fawcett, Milton Keynes, June 2008

What an amazing cottage! Coming back here each evening after working on our show garden at Malvern was like returning to all the comforts of home. We were absolutely shattered and knowing we had this lovely cottage to come back to was wonderful, thank you. Alexandra Stephenson, Lake District, May 2008

You have created a lovely home away from home. We would have liked to stay longer! The Gantars, Worlington, Suffolk, April 2008

We've really enjoyed our long weekend here. It's so clean and well equipped. You seem to have thought of everything. Thank you for the delicious cake. we will definately recommend Walkers End to our friends and I'm sure we'll be back.

Eilidh and Dave, London, March 2008

We have enjoyed a wonderful week here (nearly a week – now regret we couldn’t have stayed longer!). The cottage is delightful; comfortable, cosy and really well-equipped, you’ve obviously worked very hard! The lovely cake and drinks were most welcome. Beds comfy (and warm) and kitchen fully fitted out. The walking has been fun – not too strenuous but some breathtaking views, great to look down on the clouds. Hope to be back, and many thanks.

The Sajous Family, Isle of Wight, February 2008

Warm welcome, beautifully appointed. Especially appreciated the comfy beds, fine bed linens and welcome tray. Attention to detail a keynote throughout. We have been very comfortable despite everything the weather could throw at us. Many thanks. David and Erica, Todmorden, Lancashire, January 2008

We loved the feel of the cottage and would have enjoyed spending more time there. Compliments to the way you have kitted it out. We wish you a successful venture with it.

Lavinia and Dave Devenish, Romania, New Year 2007/2008

This is just a few lines to say 'thank you' for making our stay over Christmas so special. When we arrived 'Walker's End' looked enchanting with the lights decorating the rockery and pathways. The house was so pretty and comfortable together with the welcome tray of cake and mince pies we were all very impressed. The facilities throughout the cottage were so excellent we didn't want to leave. Thank you again and we hope to see you soon. Wendy and Richard Kitto, Walsall, Christmas 2007

Thanks for having such a nice place for us. The children loved it there, as did I. David Alfonso, California USA, December 2007

We've certainly never stopped at a place like yours before, it was so perfect in every way you have put a lot of time and thought into making the place feel so welcoming and we couldn't have picked anywhere better, a real 'find' for us.

Di and Nige Collingswood, Devon, November 2007

Our first visitors - The Mumfords, Western Australia, September/October 2007

Thank you Hattie and Andrew – you made us very welcome and may we complement you on the work you have done to prepare ‘Walkers End’ so nicely for guests. We will definitely be coming back!
